Nonna's Kitchen was the first client project I have ever worked on. I wasn't highly involved with the visual environment (I modeled the vegetables and some jars in the background). My main role in this project was programming the entire thing using Unreal Kismet, the visual scripting language in the Unreal Development Kit.
The result was a cooking based score attack game. You have to cut as many vegetables as you can while micromanaging a boiling pot. The more you cut the vegetables the more score you get, however if you quickly cut and deposit into the pot on the right you gain a multiplier which can be stacked. If the pot on the left overheats its game over, but the player can cool it down by stirring it. Each time the player stirs however increases the overheat speed, this was to ensure the game doesn't go on forever.
The target platforms were the iphone 4 and up as well as the iPad2. However things had to be scaled back to just the iPhones.
We aimed to have it out on the app store however due to some legal problems that hasn't happened yet. We still plan on trying to get it out in the future for free.
